IN THE HEART OF SMÅLAND

Welcome to Tyrolen, a nostalgic open-air dance park surrounded by the forests of Småland. Originally opened in 1962, Tyrolen quickly became a lively cultural venue hosting many well-known artists of the era. After closing in 1978, the park remained dormant for three decades before the non-profit association Tyrolens Vänner lovingly brought it back to life.

Today, Tyrolen once again hosts a wide range of events, from concerts, festivals, and dances to markets, classic car gatherings, and cultural happenings. It’s a place where heritage, music, and community meet in a uniquely Swedish setting.

One of Tyrolen’s most distinctive features is its original 1960s artwork by artist Sven Truedsson. Large celebrity portraits frame the park, while the ceiling of the main dance rotunda depicts joyful scenes from the park’s early days. You’ll also find all the classic elements of a traditional Swedish folk park: coloured lights, shooting gallery, raffle wheels, sausage stand, dance floors, and a large outdoor stage.

Throughout the season, smaller and larger cultural events are combined with café and restaurant services offering lovingly prepared food and carefully selected drinks.

Curious about Tyrolen’s history? Visit our small museum housed in a charming circus wagon. It tells the story of the park from its opening in 1962 to today, with over 60 years of music, culture, and memories. Guided tours for groups can be arranged on request.

Welcome to Tyrolen, a small paradise with a big history!
